What is your unfinished business? Life experiences that have not been adequately processed or resolved have a lasting presence in our lives. They keep showing up in ways we may or may not be aware of. Counselling gives us the opportunity to explore our unfinished business and the role it is playing in our lives currently. I look forward to joining you on your journey to learn more about yourself and what is getting in the way of you living the life you want.

Education

Marla obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from St. Thomas University. She then went on to achieve her Masters in Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Vancouver. As a part of her graduate requirements Marla completed a 700-hour clinical practicum in forensic psychiatry.

Work

In between degrees, Marla spent seven years doing youth outreach with a local nonprofit servicing youth facing homelessness, substance use, mental health challenges, and sexual exploitation. She is now immersed in the world of concurrent disorders, working in adult forensic services as well as youth and adult substance use services at a residential treatment program. This combination of education and work experience over the years has provided her with familiarity in a number of different areas that may pertain to your story and what is bringing you to counselling.

Hobbies & Interests

Marla's life outside of the counselling room consists entirely of being a dog Mom.
